DayTripping

Hello,

Having a nice and relaxing break this week. We've been doing lots of daytrips with the kids and visiting places around Ireland. We had a great adventure going to and from Mullingar, Co. Westmeath to visit the gorgeous Handmade Design Store and meeting its lovely owner Claire. If you are from the midlands you have to add it to your must visit shops. It is filled with a very thoughtful selection of handmade Irish porducts and not to forget the famous Annie Sloan chalk paint.
Mullingar is a great town, it always has a great buzz in the air and the people are so friendly. Of course the children were impressed by the sweet shop! On the way back we took the scenic route (I wasn't lost honestly) and drove through Tullamore and Port Laoise. If anyone knows why the hay around Tullamore comes rolled in one big bale with a smaller rectangle bale in front please do tell me, small boy is still talking about it!!!!!!!!

In Port Laoise we found the most amazing children's playground which was incredible. Ten minutes turned into an hour and a half very quickly. I've had to promise to return very soon. Playground planners in Carlow take note and go visit!

The pics are from a product shoot I did with www.swoop.ie a few weeks back. I have to update my swoop shop and website urgently with them, its on the list! About to start painting some furniture with the chalk paint, can't wait to see how it looks, I'll post up some pictures of the transformations!
Have a great day
Maria
