Cakes - when did they become such works or art?

I'm not a baker, I'm a sewer.  I watch the Great British Bake Off and Cake Boss and think that somehow qualifies me to make cakes.
But I can't. I've mastered the ability to make a delicious maltesor cake (thank you Nigella) and a victoria sponge that is brilliant for kids birthdays (thank you
But I do like to dream and imagine that someday I might just make one of these masterpieces.

It doesn't need words really!

Berry heaven

I really need to try a drip cake.
Oh sweet heavens
From the Movie "Up". The detail on this is amazing, it captures the colours and details of the movie so perfectly. A work of art!

Autumn in a cake! The leaves, the fox, the bark, everything.

Macaroons and a drip cake. I don't think I need to say any more.

You'll find links to these and more masterpieces on my pinterest cake page

Sorry if this has made you hungry!!

Lollipops and Daydreams in the press

Excited to launch our Autumn/Winter collection with beautiful photos taken by AMC Photography in Cork.

A favourite is our pink dress with mustard collar. It buttons at the back and is fully lined.

It was featured in the Sunday Business Post!

The Swan Party dress is a key piece of the collection and a personal favourite!  It has featured in an editorial for Dublin Fashion Festival.

Honoured to have written an article for Mums & Tots Magazine Ireland, entitled a "Room to Grow" it gives tips and advice on designing rooms for that three to seven year age group. Hope you enjoy it!

Happy reading and our new collection is live on

George and Milly at The Old Yard

Carlow and Kildare are full of local treasures and this is one of my favourites for a little escape, a cup of coffee and delicious homemade treats along with some gorgeous little shops, its The Old Yard, Castledermot, Co. L Shaped Couch - Living Room Inspiration

I have a longing for an L-Shape couch. After years of brown leather its time for a change. I have found some brilliant inspiration from the 1950s onwards. These couches didn't shy away from colour. And neither did the rooms they were placed in.

How fab is this, a green S Shape couch with what looks like velvet upholstery.

Beautiful green velvet L-shaped couch in a retro inspired room.

And finally, while its not an L-shaped couch it deserves to be honoured

They put my little brown couch to shame! It might be time for an upgrade....

Lollipops and Daydreams SS16 with Pinatas Pinatas

My children are pinatas obsessed! They even make their own. Pinatas are a Mexican party tradition and are made from paper mache and filled with all sorts of treats. The pinatas is hung up high and party goers take turns in trying to break it open with a stick of sorts.
It seemed irresistible not to use one for our Spring Summer 2016 photo shoot. All photos are by  Christine Burns Photography and the amazing ice-cream pinatas is by Pinatas Pinatas and it is handmade here in Ireland by the fabulous Ruth! Clothes are by Lollipops & Daydreams. Hair Accessories are by Charlotte's Pearl, Wexford.

Thank you to Christine, Ruth and all the wonderful models!
All the best
